Set on the shores of beautiful Payette Lake, McCall, Idaho, is a friendly resort community of 2,500 residents tucked among the rugged peaks of West-Central Idaho.

Still one of the Northwest's best-kept secrets, McCall Idaho is only now receiving national attention for the extraordinary quality of its scenery, four-season recreation and laidback atmosphere. A beautiful two-hour drive north of Boise, McCall boasts two destination ski resorts, including the new $1.5 billion Tamarack Resort, the first major American ski resort built in 23 years, as well as Brundage Mountain, renowned for its champagne powder and uncrowded terrain. Compared to other four-season mountain resort towns, it's still an extraordinary value (see price comparison). Blackhawk offers some of the most unique pieces of real estate in McCall.

A historic and diverse downtown.

McCall's historic downtown area (just 10 minutes from Blackhawk) offers an ever-expanding array of interesting shops, outstanding restaurants, art galleries and cultural events, just steps from Payette Lake. In summer, you can enjoy a glass of wine and a game of bocce ball in the courtyard of the Bistro 45 restaurant. Or marvel at the giant snow sculptures of the famous Winter Carnival in January.

Temperate summers.

In summer, temperatures average 80 degrees F--perfect weather to sail, play golf, hike or ride the hundreds of miles of trails surrounding town. You can also explore over 300 alpine lakes, not to mention the famous fishing and whitewater of Hells Canyon of the Snake River, and the many forks of the Salmon and Payette rivers. In addition, McCall offers 81 holes of golf, including those designed by Robert Trent Jones II, Andy North, Robert Muir Graves and Don Knott.

Snow-filled winters.

With the first snowfalls of November, McCall transforms into a winter paradise receiving an average of 12 feet of snow annually (Brundage Mountain averages 300 inches). Great alpine skiing and snowboarding await you at nearby Tamarack, Brundage Mountain and Little Ski Hill. Miles of Nordic skiing can be enjoyed at several locations, including Blackhawk, Ponderosa State Park, Jug Mountain Ranch, Tamarack and McCall Municipal Golf Course. And the new Manchester Ice Centre, located downtown, offers year-round ice skating and hockey.
