Construction begins on the River Lodge.
Preliminary site work has begun on the 13,000 sq. ft. River Lodge in the heart of Blackhawk on the River. Designed by Epikos Land Planning + Architecture, the River Lodge (see rendering below) takes inspiration from McCall's classic historic structures, with stone floors, log accents and soaring vaulted ceilings. The River Lodge will be a central place for Blackhawk homeowners to gather and relax. Planned features include a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, spa treatment rooms, a media center and a naturalist center with recreational equipment available. C & H Contractors is the construction company for the project. This Cascade, ID firm is known for an upscale, Western design style they call "mountain elegance," and is also one of Blackhawk's preferred builders. Betts Landscaping and Excavation of McCall will incorporate native shrubs, plants and trees to blend with the scenic surroundings of the River Lodge.
Griffith Construction breaks ground on new home.
Blackhawk preferred builder Griffith Construction has begun building a new home on Lot 17 using the Mayfly (PDF) floorplan. The Mayfly features a covered, wrap-around deck, detached garage, and vaulted living, kitchen and dining areas, as well as a vaulted master suite. This Mayfly home is currently available to own. Blackhawk expands sales team.
As interest in the Blackhawk community grows, so has our sales team to better serve our clients and Realtors. Blackhawk unaffected by McCall building moratorium.
On Sept. 28th, the McCall City Council declared an emergency moratorium on residential and subdivision building permit applications for an indeterminate length of time. Fortunately, Blackhawk is located outside the area affected by the moratorium. New homes and other construction at Blackhawk on the River will continue as scheduled.
MTV helps kick off grand opening of new McCall Skate Park.
Lance Daniels, sales director for Blackhawk on the River, is also a board member for the McCall Skateboard Park Association. On Sept. 25th, he and over 300 members of the McCall community attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently-completed, 17,000 sq. ft. community park. In an unexpected twist, MTV film crews were also in attendance, along with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and other professional skating and biking athletes. MTV was there to film a surprise segment for the television show, "Tony Hawk's Secret Skatepark Tour." The Harshman Skateboard Park is the largest skate park in Idaho, and is located near the McCall Elementary School.
