Trout Unlimited Joins With Blackhawk to Survey Fish Habitat.
The Boise and McCall chapters of Trout Unlimited recently joined with the Blackhawk development team to survey fish habitat in the miles of braided streams that run through the 1551-acre Blackhawk property. The survey found the existing fish habitat in good quality, and Blackhawk is currently developing plans to further restore and improve Blackhawk's riparian areas. The area is home to rainbow and brook trout, and a seasonal run of Kokanee from Lake Cascade. Trout Unlimited is a nationwide, non-profit conservation group that works to protect and restore North America's trout and salmon habitat.
McCall Ski Season Kicks Off with Great Snow.
As Brundage and Tamarack Resort geared up to open in late November, the snow started to fly in McCall. The ski season is already off to a great start, with over 77" of cumulative snowfall at the top of Brundage Mountain, and 65" at
Tamarack Summit. For ski resorts that typically see a seasonal average of 300", November's snowfall couldn't be more promising. For access to great alpine skiing, visit Blackhawk this winter, conveniently located exactly midway between both resorts. To plan a visit, and for help arranging accommodations and activities, call 208.630.5070.
