Blackhawk, McCall Featured in Sunset Magazine
The August 2006 edition of Sunset magazine featured McCall and the Blackhawk community in an article titled, "Where to buy a cabin: the West's most popular places to find your second home." The magazine scouted the Western U.S. for its top 10 hot vacation-home spots, looking for locations with "a growing second home market, great recreational opportunities, relative affordability, and a small-town lifestyle, from art galleries to coffeehouses and farmers' markets." McCall ranked number four on Sunset's list, and was the only Idaho location mentioned. The article singled out Blackhawk as "an environmentally aware development situated along the Payette River." Blackhawk to Appear on Travel Channel, Style Network
Blackhawk on the River will be featured in the television show "Great Taste" on a segment for the Second Home & Retirement Destinations series. The program will air nationally on both the Travel Channel and Style Network. Blackhawk is the only community of its kind in the Pacific Northwest selected for the production, reflecting the project's unique nature and stand-out design. Read the complete press release here. Blackhawk Mountain Triathlon Coming August 5th
The Blackhawk Mountain Triathlon will be held on August 5th in McCall, with a 1K swim, 40K bike, and a 10K run. The triathlon is a highly popular McCall tradition now in its 29th year. Blackhawk became its full sponsor this summer. We cover the cost of putting on the event, so all entry fees can go entirely to the non-profit Little Ski Hill and its after-school programs. Blackhawk Lakes Stocked
We recently stocked 1,700 six-to-16-inch rainbow trout and 1,100 bluegill and bass in Rock Lake and Blackmare Lake at Blackhawk on the River. These oxygen-fed lakes were designed to be prime fish habitat.
